Roaring Gazette VS JW Mac: Our Growing Conflict, By the Roaring Gazette Staff

On December 4th, around 3:50PM, the newspaper club got a knock on the door. A couple members answered, and they saw an ominous scarecrow lying against the wall.

The scarecrow slowly gathered a crowd, as nearly every member went outside to uncover the mystery of who put this scarecrow here. One student initiated splitting up, and searching nearby. After returning to the classroom, the culprits were found.

JW MAC, the library club, was caught red-handed, having put up the scarecrow. This, to some, was not a surprise, because this wasn’t the first time JW MAC had done something like this. Previously, they abandoned their 6 foot tall (6’) witch named Merdith in front of our headquarters. (See "A Random Event in JW History")

This was a slight that could not be ignored. They had made fools of us for the final time. During newspaper club today, December 18th, JW MAC levied unfounded  accusations against newspaper club. They swore that we had stolen an orange colored pencil which served as their snowman’s nose. We would never do such a heinous act.

Here, the plot thickens: JW MAC retaliated by stealing OUR PRECIOUS SNACK STASH!! (It was shortly returned in a ding dong ditch manner, from which we saw a JW Mac member fleeing from the scene.)

But it wasn’t over yet, JW Mac accused us of leaving a ransom note for the allegedly stolen pencil (which was SIGNED, The Newspaper Club). It was later revealed that even the ransom note itself was a fabrication, and had never existed!

A treaty has been signed agreeing to hold any tomfoolery until next year (or so they claim).

Ms. Vicente was quoted as saying she has “no knowledge whatsoever of any improper conduct on the part of newspaper club members.” She noted, however, that “those JW MAC kids can’t be trusted.”

The afternoon ended with JW MAC leaving a three dimensional snowflake near our door, with the words “a peace offering . . . for now” scrawled along its side.

No one knows who will strike next, but the conflict continues to brew under the surface of our treaty.
