If you got a combination of As, Bs, Cs, Ds, and Es, you are…

Divergent. While there is no official symbol for divergence, most fans have created one (to the left.) In society, if you are divergent, you will either get killed or you will try to stay hidden. They have no specific faction color, for though they are spread throughout the factions, trying to stay hidden. Abnegation (See below) has the highest population of Divergents. They have about the majority of them due to them being so selfless, so they try to suppress all other personality traits of the other factions; this creates a type of personality that absorbs all of these traits and allows them to have more than one aptitude when taking the test. If you are not Divergent, I am highly concerned. Divergent leader: none. I like to think that their leader is Beatrice (Tris) Prior (The main character in the books), but because in the books not all of the Divergent people got together in one place and actually acknowledge that Tris was their leader, they don’t have one. If you have combinations of letters, pick the one with the most results or if you have two, read both!

If you got mostly As, you are…

Amity. People in Amity are caring, kind, and peaceful. They believe in respecting others and finding true happiness in their daily lives. Their faction’s color is any earthy color, like red, yellow, orange, green, eccetera. To the other factions (mostly Dauntless, see below), they seem like “banjo strummin' softies.” It is unclear why they view Amity this way, but it is probably because they play banjos and are easily offended due to how they live in an environment full of peace and kindness (which is a good thing!). They are often farmers or counselors in their society and the rest of the city. They value arts and music, allowing them to express themselves in a calming way with others. For example, if you like art, chorus, music, and interacting with people, you could be considered Amity. The Amity are best known for their contribution to food in their society, seeing as they work on the only farms that make food. Without the Amity, their society would collapse. In the Choosing Ceremony, their symbol is soil or earth. Amity leader: Johanna Reyes.

If you got mostly Bs, you are…

Abnegation. People in Abnegation are selfless, helpful, and kind (But to the point of doing it without anyone paying attention to them). They believe in self sacrificing in order to make others’ lives better. They don’t think of themselves when performing these actions. Their faction’s color is grey. They chose this color in order to blend into the background, become less noticeable, and be less self absorbed. They often wear cheap, baggy clothes in order to be less noticeable. The Abnegation gives food, clothing, and materials to the Factionless (See below) because they cannot get items for themselves. Abnegation's jobs are leaders and people in government or leaders. They value volunteering because they think that they should provide help to the entire community. For example, if you like volunteering for SSL or picking up someone’s stuff when their binder explodes, you could be considered Abnegation. The Abnegation are best known for their contribution to the government, serving as law makers, decision makers, and political leaders. In the Choosing Ceremony, their symbol is stones (for they are often grey). Abnegation leader: Marcus Eaton.

If you got mostly Cs, you are…

Candor. People in Candor are honest, truthful, and open. They believe in not keeping secrets–and anyone who does will be looked down upon. Their faction’s color is white and black. The Candor can be found chatting with their friends, debating a topic, or practicing honesty. Candor's jobs are judges, people in court, and lawyers. They value the class history, because they think that they should know about the past in order to have a better future. For example, if you like history and hanging out with your friends openly at lunch, you could be considered Candor. The Candor are best known for their contribution to the government, serving as lawyers, judges, and trusted leaders in law and politics. In the Choosing Ceremony, their symbol is glass. Candor leader: Jack Kang.

If you got the most Ds, you are…

Dauntless. People in dauntless are thrill seekers, risk takers, and conquerors of fears. Their faction’s color is black and that is the only color they wear and is available. They are always in for the challenge and instead of sitting at home, they are most likely doing brave stunts or ziplining. They protect their city and are police, tattoo artists, and trainers, and anything else that fits under the “Brave” category. They value physical activities, like PE in school. For example, if you love PE or presenting things in front of the class, you could be considered Dauntless. Dauntless love to use slang. For Abnegation (See above), they call them “Stiffs”, because they are so selfless and trying to be forgotten. For Amity (See above), they call them “banjo strummn’ softies”, because they play music and can get easily offended when spoken too harshly. In the Choosing Ceremony, their symbol is burning coals. Dauntless leaders: Eric Coulter and Max.

If you got the most Es, you are…

Erudite. People in Erudite are smart and are always seeking out a logical solution to their problems. Their faction’s color is blue, and that is the only color that you are allowed to wear. You can find the Eurdite with their nose in a book at a library. The Erudite are scientists, librarians, teachers, and anything that fits under the “Intelligent” category (Jobs that require logic, thinking, and problem solving.) For example, if you are in any advanced class or extra curricular clubs, you could be considered Erudite. The Erudite are best known for their invention of certain technology, like the aptitude tests and water filtration. In the Choosing Ceremony, their symbol is water. Erudite’s leader: Jeanine Matthews.

If you didn’t relate to any of these, you are…

Factionless. Although it is very unlikely that you will get this, I’m still going to write about it. The only way to get into the Factionless is to either fail your initiation into your chosen faction, choosing to leave, or be exiled. The leader of the Factionless is Evelyn Johnson, who originally came from Abnegation (she was the wife of Marcus (See above), leader of Abnegation), but chose to leave due to her life in that faction. The Factionless don’t have a specific color, but they rather wear the discarded, old pieces of clothing from the other factions, often causing them to wear grey-toned clothing.

Book recommendations!

If you have no idea why you took this test, or why I wrote about this, it's because it’s from the book Divergent by Veronica Roth! Please, please, please, please read this series! It is so good!! If you have Ms. Vicente, you can ask her, and she will tell you that this series is very good. If you still don’t believe me (or you're not much of a reader), consider watching the films based on the books. Ignore the Rotten Tomatoes rating, please!

Thank you!
