We are in quarantine, which means that we have a lot of free time on our hands. After spending the majority of your time being productive, or just sleeping for a few hours straight, why not use your time to catch up on some entertaining shows on Netflix? As a Netflix enthusiast, I have curated 5 shows that should be next on your bucket list. (I have tried to find TV shows of all genres to keep people interested.) If enjoying TV shows is not your thing, critiquing TV shows is another excellent way to spend your time.
Disclaimer: These shows are not ranked. That’s for you to decide.
#1: Vampire Diaries
Elena Gilbert is a recent orphan who is torn between two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore. This show encompasses everything one is looking for in a great series: a wonderful ensemble, immersing love triangles, shocking betrayals, major plot twists, and a rich mythology that will keep you hooked. This series has two spinoffs, meaning that this show is worth watching.
#2: The 100
100 juvenile delinquents are sent to Earth to see whether it is habitable after nearly a century after a nuclear war destroyed it. This show is ideal for the post-apocalyptic nerds who crave the sense of adventure and thrill. The obstacles and relationships that are built add depth to this amazing show. This show is also known for killing leads that fans grow to love, which keeps the audience on its toes and ready to find out what happens next.
#3: All American
High school player Spencer James transfers from Crenshaw to Beverly Hills to play for an elite football team. His social drama and family issues make this a fresh and familiar show for middle/upcoming high schoolers just like us. Racism and “fitting in” make it a relatable show for our rough world. With a set of memorable characters, you’ll be hooked from the start.
#4: Criminal Minds
A FBI Squad uses their individual expertise to identify the perpetrator’s motives and thoughts, and next steps. Their squad consists of a computer genius, an awkward genius, a former media liaison who balances her family life with her occupation, and a profiler who is brilliant with getting into the minds of criminals. The character development, the important lessons shared, and the thinking and perspective make it a mind blowing show that you should definitely binge.
#5: Outer Banks
A teenager, John B, enlists his three best friends, Kiara (Kie), JJ, and Pope to search for a legendary treasure linked to his father’s death. They are part of a group called the Pogues, and along with running from a wealthy and superior group called the Kooks, they work to overcome challenges and obstacles such as love, fighting, friendship, and money, and finish what John B’s father started. You’ll never be bored while watching, and I bet that after the 10 episodes are over, you’ll be craving for more.
That’s all for my top 5 TV shows for quarantine. Enjoy watching these and spread the word. Sharing is caring.
