Russian Invasion of Ukraine by Keira T.

Overview

Most of the news and current events around the world are about the Russian and Ukrainian war. Almost everyone has heard about Russia’s invasion. For many years, the United States has been an ally of Ukraine. According to state.gov, the US has donated billions of dollars since 2014, and even more to help defend themselves against Moscow, Russia. Sadly, Moscow has, and is going to, continuously "bombard cities into submission."

Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that Ukraine had never endangered Russia’s security, which makes this an unprovoked offense. Zelenskyy, being an audacious president, is bold and is fighting against Russia. He wishes that this bloodbath would just be finished.

What You Can Do

Do you feel, in any way, helpless because there isn’t anything you can do for Ukraine? You shouldn’t. There are plenty of opportunities to grab so you can support the Ukrainians. Julius West clubs have partnered up to help out. They had a donation drive to raise money for Ukrainians until the end of March. There are many online and in-person donation opportunities so you can assist many Ukrainians. Find a reliable donation spot and give some aid!

The Next Step

All in all, the Ukraine and Russia crisis has been a part of everyone’s current life, whether or not they are in Russia or Ukraine. It’s up to you if you want to advocate for or donate to Ukraine.

Every part of war is a bloodbath, to be fair.
